The March and Turn Drill
For anyone who wants to play much closer to the level of his/her potential, this warm up drill should be done daily. But, if not daily, most certainly just prior to playing a round of golf or to begin any practice session on the range.
In our fast-paced world, we rush to the course and head to the first tee, all too often, without warming up sufficiently to get the feel for our swing. Here’s a way to warm up YOUR swing effectively and in very short order.
Let’s understand the components that make up a good golf swing: Weight Shift; Full Turn away and through; Spine Tilt =spinning around a fixed center of gravity (CoG); Spine Angle; Direction of Motion = away from and toward a target; Connections = arms to body rotation; Focus = Delivery of Down and Through; Balance; Rhythm and Tempo.
Wow! All that? Now we begin to see why it’s important to warm-up our swing BEFORE we tee off!
The following video takes you through the steps of the March and Turn Drill in a way that helps you to recapture the feel of YOUR swing motion, daily. The result is consistency and predictability of your ball flights! Worth doing?
Now you’re ready! You no longer have to ruin your round in those first four holes that it used to take to “warm-up.”
