Marty,

I've just reviewed the video clip. While tray position does have the wrist at right angles to the forearm, we must remember that once you are in your spine angle, your forearm is no longer perpendicular to the ground. Rather it is parallel to your spine angle.

Ed,
We had a technical problem with the site that has since been resolved. We're glad to know you are tuning in weekly for the new video tip. By mid-summer we should be well on our way to complete lessons you can download - starting with the shortgame and putting - the fastest way to lower scores.

All the best,

Ozzie

Marty,

I don't believe anyone can plan golf up to the level of his talent when thinking about swing plane! Instead, you need simply to learn the feel of "connections." Once you have a proper set-up: including distance from the ball, ball position, width of stance, alignment, the establishment of your DOWN and the FEEL of your through - swing plane is simply a result - not an objective of a good swing! If you simply feel your handle cocking down and returning to your left pivot, i.e. "connected to" the inside of your left thigh BACK, DOWN AND THROUGH and the club head (with the face square) cocking toward ("connected to") the outside edge of your right shoulder BACK - YOU WILL BE IN PLANE! Then you don't have to worry about having two different swings!!!

I personally think the whole discussion of the one and two plane swing to be an utter academic exercise that is absolutely useless to anyone who plays the game.

Chris,
To quit casting, you must learn to feel power come from somewhere besides your arms. Check to be sure you are getting a full hip and shoulder turn to complete your backswing. Your left side should turn fully behind the ball with the ball aligned with your left heel for your woods and 1" inside your left heel with all irons. Then narrow your right foot stance approximatley 1" per club from five iron to your wedges.

Once you have turned fully behind the ball, leave your back to the target as you move into your left post with your right thigh and right elbow (still fully cocked). Then spin your left hip as fast as you like. This left post spin will serve to fire your right side through to your target. YOur cocked right elbow should thrust to straight just beyond the ball, thus delivering an accelerating clubhead from ball to target.

Golfstruck - Better Golf - Right Now!

Martin,
The proper distance from the ball with your driver: When standing erect Your handle should be an extra inch or two away from your left pant leg. Be sure to feel your groins up and away from the golf ball so that your butt is as far behind your heels as your eyes are in front of your toes. Keep your knees and chip up so you feel stretched. I call this your giraffe posture.
