If you constantly have trouble with direction and are tired of searching the woods for errant ball flights, you may want to check out the following video clip. It has to do with the connection of your elbows to one another and to your body turn – back, down and through. We cannot over stress the importance of feeling and maintaining the “elbows connection” throughout your swing.
In the following video tip you will come to understand the multiple benefits of the waggle, what makes for a useful waggle and what how an improper waggle can actually be detrimental to producing qualify ball flights.
Sam Snead once said to me: The most common error I see, even among young tour players, is a tendency to change their spine angle during the downswing. When you change your spine angle, you also must change your shaft angle at impact – which in turn causes the player to spray shots all over the parking lot.
In the accompanying video, we show you how to properly establish your spine angle at address, and then how to practice retaining it throughout your swing. Maintaining spine angle is an extremely important component of consistency and ball flight predictability.
In the following video clip we clear up for our Golfstruck regulars the confusion about weight transfer during the golf swing. Once you understand the difference between shifting your wieght and shifting your Center of Gravity (CoG) you are on your way to becoming a much more consistent, more powerful and more accurate player.
Perhaps the most common answer I get to the question: what do you want to improve, is: my consistency! Here is a simple way to improve your ability to hit it farther and straighter, more consistently.
The key to your delivery with your elbows together is that they stay level enough at waist high both back and through- to balance a tray of drinks and that both elbows point to the ground. It is this rotation of the forearms (elbows point down) that facilitates the proper release of the clubhead speed from ball to target.
In this video you will learn how and where to deliver more clubhead speed so that you can produce ball flights with both greater accuracy and distance. On those few occasions when you don’t have time to hit shots before you play, you would do well to get the feel of acceleration from ball to target with just a few warm-up swings on the first tee.
