Brandt Snedeker

At the Barclays

Brandt, as I followed your round today your routine appeared to by one of making sure your mind doesn’t get in the way of your talent.  In short, “hit it before you start to think.”

Bobby Jones also found that he would find a way to think himself out of shots when he stood over the ball too long.

I did notice your alignment routine that sets your torso and club in relation to both the ball and the target is consistently the same every time.  Which accounts for your consistency. Well done!

What concerns me  is the lack of consistent accuracy with your iron game that this appraoch to shot making generates.  You are not getting enough really good birdie looks.  And you are not quite able to capitalize on enough of the looks you do get.

My suggestion would be simply that you need to rehearse and deliver your feel BEYOND the ball better to “zero-in” on your target more effectively and consistently - from putting to irons and driving.  A little better left side control of your motion will do it.  This simply requires a feel and focus that you can build into your routine.

Once the season is over, I’d like to work on these feels with you. With a better left side and  slightly different routines from putting to driving, I am certain we can get you back into the winners circle – often.

All the best,

Ozzie
